An AI workspace for everyday business

An AI workspace for everyday business

A receipt arrives in email. A customer asks a question in Slack. Someone has the latest project numbers in a spreadsheet. Before any real work happens, somebody has to gather it all up.

ChatGPT Work, Codex, and Claude Cowork give businesses a place to connect that information and assign work. The features differ, but the useful question is straightforward: can the agent reliably handle a full process?

Talk through the work while it happens

Voice makes it easier to explain a messy situation. You can call a ChatGPT dot, talk through priorities, and give it work to pursue. It can use background agents, often called sub-agents, to handle several tasks while the conversation continues.

For example, you could discuss a vendor decision while separate agents compare quotes and check delivery dates. You keep the conversation moving and bring the findings together before deciding.

Give the team somewhere to work together

ChatGPT Space holds shared pages, files, and plans that people can edit alongside the agent. Sites lets you build a website or a small tool and share it with the intended audience.

Think of a vendor comparison the team can comment on, or a simple dashboard that puts project figures next to the questions they raise. Claude’s projects and connected tools offer another way to keep instructions and source material together. These products aren’t identical, so choose around the work your team needs to share.

Share the way your team does the job

A skill packages instructions, examples, and sometimes scripts for a repeatable task. Claude supports skills, and Codex uses them too. Sharing one with teammates gives their agents the same starting instructions.

An expense skill might describe the required receipt fields, the categories your bookkeeper uses, and what counts as an exception. An email skill might explain which customers need a quick response and when a message should go to the owner.

Put the routine work on a schedule

Scheduled tasks in Claude and automations in Codex can run recurring work. With the right connections, an expense workflow could gather submissions, extract the details, and flag missing receipts for review. A communications workflow could group email and chat messages into replies to draft, decisions to make, and updates that can wait.

Start with one queue that already creates friction. Give the agent the team’s instructions, try it on a few real items, and check the output before making it a daily job.
